We at the Better Festival Group believe it’s time to address the way ticket touts abuse music fans by purchasing large quantities of festival/event tickets for the sole purpose of selling them on at hugely inflated prices, preying on music fans to make fast and easy money.
We want to see a mark-up put on resold music event tickets capped at 15% of the face value of the ticket.
We think its impossible to stamp out touts completely, and rightly pointed out by a lot of people, touts do allow you to pick up a bargain on occassions and don’t always rip you off on tickets to the extent that they do with festival tickets. Our aim is not to cut our noses off to spite our face and eliminate the positives brought to us by ticket touts, but to find a middle ground in which we can live harmoniously and fairly together.
