GENERAL

- Submitting an application indicates that you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.
- Submitting an application indicates that you agree for The Better Festival Group to store your application details in our database. Your information will never be passed onto another organisation with the exception of point 1 below
- Submitting an application indicates that you agree that if you fail to arrive and work at a festival you have been confirmed for without giving 4 weeks notice or your performance whilst on site is less than acceptable you will get blacklisted. You will be unable to apply to work with The Better Festival Group in the future and some of your details maybe shared with other staffing providers and/or events to inform them that you are blacklisted with The Better Festival Group.
- Submitting an application indicates that you agree that any photographs or videos of you or by you may be used by us for promotional purposes. Obviously if we use a photograph you really don’t want us to use, you can email us to discuss it.
- All volunteers MUST camp within the allocated Crew Camping Area.
- All staff will be issued with a wristband / pass giving them access to the areas of the event which they need to perform their duties. These wristbands will remain the property of the event at all times. Anyone found abusing access their pass has given them will have their pass taken, be removed from site and will subsequently become blacklisted.
- The misuse of any issued radio communications will result in a verbal warning, only 1 verbal warning will be issued and further issues will result in further action being taken. This includes but is not limited to disclosing any sensitive information heard over the radio, using bad language and too much chit chat.
- Your confirmation of acceptance can be revoked at any time due to cancellation of an event or contracts not be being gained at named events. If it is deemed necessary to revoke your confirmation of acceptance for any other reason you will be advised of the reasons via email.
- If you are dissatisfied with any disciplinary decision or wish to discuss anything regarding your volunteering experience please contact us by email.
- You will need to bring proof of your Entitlement to Work in the UK to the first event you volunteer at with us, we will copy it, keep it safe and return it at the end of the event. You will not have to bring it again. More Information can be found HERE please read before applying.
- We are introducing a deposit scheme this year. Please ensure you have read the Deposit Terms and Conditions HERE before applying.
EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS (statement of the Terms and Conditions of employment under the employment rights act 1996)
- You are required to carry out your roles and responsibilities as detailed in the job description / position specification / On Site Briefing.
- Your place of work will be the address of the event and is where you are required to work.
- Staff are responsible for their own travel, subsistence (unless otherwise stated in Confirmation of Acceptance) and accommodation expenses (in the unlikely event that camping is not available on site).
- Provision of meals or allowances are not negotiable and are, where available, provided by the event and distributed by The Better Festival Group.
- All of our vacancies are VOLUNTARY unless otherwise stated in your Confirmation of Acceptance
HOURS AND BREAKS
- Hours of work will be no more than 8 hours per shift, majority of our vacancies are 6 hours per shift.
- Adults (18+) – If you work over 6 hours you will be required to take a 20 minute break during your shift. Shift supervisors will arrange this on site.
16 & 17 – If you work over 4.5 hours you will be required to take a 30 minute break during your shift. Shift supervisors will arrange this on site. - Adults (18+) – You will have at least an 11 hour break between shifts
16 & 17 – You will have at least a 12 hour break between shifts – if your shift pattern does not adhere to this please let your shift supervisor know immediately and they will look into it.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Any of the following, including the aiding and abetting of others is a breach of our Terms and Conditions and will result in some or all of your deposit being retained.
- Failure to comply with our Terms and Conditions or On-Site Instructions.
- Failure to complete a required task promptly and conscientiously, without a valid and confirmed reason.
- Leaving a position during your shift without permission.
- Making any false declarations.
- Revealing or discussing any confidential information relating to The Better Festival Group or its clients without permission.
- Inappropriate or unacceptable behaviour towards persons encountered during your time on site.
- Conducting yourself in a manner that is liable to damage the credibility or reputation of The Better Festival Group, it’s clients or it’s other volunteers.
- Failure to wear a Hi Visibility vest when on shift, this includes having it tucked in your trousers, slung over your shoulder, tied round your waist etc.
- Reporting for duty under the influence of alcohol or restricted drugs, or use of these whilst on duty.
- Permitting unauthorised access to premises, event site or place of work.
