The BIG Tent Recycle – With environmental responsibility becoming more important, and individuals and businesses alike having to take more accountability for their carbon footprint, we are launching the BIG Tent Recycle at Wakestock and Sonisphere 2010 on Monday morning / Sunday Night as you prepare to leave you will be encouraged to take your unwanted tents and camping items to one of the BTR donation points located around the campsites where it will be collected, sorted and prepared for distribution by a team of volunteers.
You will be required to pack up your tent to ensure that all it’s items are together and there will be black sacks available at collection points for those of you without a tent bag or that cannot fit everything securely back in its bag. It’s a small effort which has a huge potential of benefitting someone less fortunate.
We will accept tents, camping chairs (must be unbroken), blankets and sleeping bags which will then be distributed to various charities including homeless and children’s charities, animal shelters and organisations who can use tent fabric for fashion.
When you donate your camping items, you will be able to register to enter a prize draw at donation points to be in with a chance of winning prizes including free festival tickets for 2011 and festival merchandise.
